The forecast for Saturday is for triple digit heat in Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk which would set new record highs at all three of the area’s official climate sites.  Ahead of the weekend, a pleasant Thursday forecast high of 82 will be short lived.

A dome of heat will cover a large portion of the middle of the country stretching from the Gulf Coast to the Canadian Border beginning Friday and staying in place for about a week.

Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s for several days after possible record breaking heat this weekend.
