Nebraska hospitals, including those in Lincoln, are facing continuing challenges in the areas of financial stability and employment, this according to Jeremy Nordquist, Executive Director of the Nebraska Hospital Association. Nordquist, on a Zoom call Monday with Harris Frankel of Nebraska Medicine, Omaha; Jeff Francis of Methodist Health System, Omaha; and Jed Hansen of the Nebraska Rural Health Assn., says Nebraska hospitals continue to face challenging headwinds from critical workforce shortages and financial pressures that are not subsiding quickly enough. Hansen added that many of Nebraska’s small rural hospitals are facing issues that threaten their very existence in smaller communities.
