For the ninth straight year Lincoln Fire and Rescue has been recognized by the American Heart Association for excellence in heart attack and stroke care. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says the Heart Attack Honor Roll Award is a team effort.
“It’s what we do, but then it’s also our time frame of getting those people to the hospital and getting them to the proper treatment.” This is the eighth year in a row the department has received the Mission Lifeline EMS Gold Plus award from the American Heart Association after receiving silver recognition in 2015.
“The use of evidence-based protocols, and collaboration with our medical director and Lincoln hospitals allows LFR to give our patients the absolute best possible outcome when suffering a stroke, heart attack, or cardiac arrest.”
Mission Lifeline is a national, community-based initiative improving systems of care for patients experiencing heart attack, stroke, and cardiac arrest.
