The Lancaster County Super Fair kicks off next Thursday, August 3rd, going through Saturday, August 12th, and event officials are sending out their last call for volunteers to staff the event.
Managing Director, Amy Dickerson said they still need volunteers for a number of different positions:
- Admission Gate Ticket Takers
- Parking Lot Attendants
- Cafe & Bartenders
Volunteers must be 16 years or older. The fair has paid and non-paid opportunities. All volunteers working at least 4 hours will receive:
- Super Fair T-shirt (while supplies last)
- Unlimited fountain drinks including soda, iced tea, lemonade, ice water
- Breaks, shade, basic snacks will be provided as much as possible
- One meal from any Lancaster Event Center café for all volunteers working 4 or more hours
Volunteers seeking unpaid opportunities can receive certification of volunteer hours for school or other organization, and will earn 4 fair gate tickets and 1 fair parking ticket after working 2 shifts.
Individual volunteers are offered $12/hr for their work, or wages can be designated to their youth/nonprofit group as a fundraiser. They will also earn 4 fair gate tickets & 1 fair parking ticket after working 2 shifts.

Competitive opportunities are also open for those wanting to participate in the fair. Dickerson said all three events in the Motor Mania competition have spots open:
- Figure 8 Races
- Demolition Derby
- Garden Tractor Pulling (New)
- Tough Trucks & Cars (New)
- Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull
- Kid’s Big Wheel Race
As well as a few non-vehicular events:
- Cinnamon Roll Contest, $500 Grand Prize (Judged by Lincoln State Senator, Jane Raybould)
- Mutton Bustin’
- Wiener Dog Race (New)
