Suspects Sought In Latest Lincoln Vape Shop Burglary

By Tom Stanton Jul 14, 2023 | 1:49 PM

Lincoln Police say there have been 15 vape shop burglaries so far in 2023 and seven in the past 30 days.  The latest one happened around 3:45 Friday morning at Smokaha Tobacco near 56th and Nebraska Parkway.

“Arriving officers found the front glass doors and a window broken out and a concrete brick laying inside the business,” says LPD Captain Todd Kocian.  “The store manager arrived a short time later and reported approximately $300 worth of CBD gummies and miscellaneous Kratom products missing.”

Security video shows two suspects dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered using concrete bricks to break the store window.  Damage to the business is estimated at $5.000.  The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.

LPD says at this same time last year there were 18 vape shop burglaries.
