Excitement is building on the Southeast Community College Campus in Lincoln where the first ever student residence hall is being built. The three story suite-style facility features a variety of room style options.
Each suite has a mini-kitchenette area. Bev Cummins is the Lincoln Campus Director and says Woodhaven Hall will be able to accommodate nearly 250 students and there has been a lot of interest in on campus living.
“We’ve already got over 50 contracts for the spring semester, and that’s seven months away,” Cummins says. “Most of them don’t really sign their contracts until just before they start classes, so we’re excited with the interest already.”
She says having living-learning opportunities within the residence hall allows students to connect with classmates and faculty as well as support services on campus.
Woodhaven Hall will also feature a community kitchen, game room, convenience store and a workout area. Cummins says construction is on schedule and it will be open for students in January.
