Lincoln Police say a group of kids who tossed a lit firework into a vehicle early Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Target at 48th and Q. Captain Todd Kocian says officers responded just before 4:00 a.m.
“The victim said he was sitting in his vehicle waiting to go to work when a group of kids threw a firework into his vehicle causing the passenger seat to catch fire.”
Kocian says the man was able to throw the firework out and the kids fled the scene in a vehicle. Damage to the man’s car is estimated at $1,000. A witness was able to get the license plate number of the fleeing vehicle, a Nissan Armada that had been stolen the night before near 23rd and Dudley.
