The search is on for two pit bull puppies that were stolen from a truck near 70th and Pioneers Blvd around 9:30 Monday night. LPD Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the puppies were left in the running truck while the 21 year old driver went inside the Chipotle restaurant.
When he came back out, Vollmer says the truck and the attached trailer were gone along with the dogs. He says the trailer and some equipment were later found near 42nd and Cornhusker but the truck and puppies are still missing.
Vollmer says the value of the dogs is $6,500 and the truck is worth $18-thousand. Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
