Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to investigate a fire hazard at a storage facility near Nebraska Parkway and Yankee Hill Road Saturday afternoon.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says they were told someone was living in one of the units at Sasquatch Storage. When deputies arrived, they spoke with 35 year old Matthew Nicolas who told deputies he was renting the unit.
He says they were able to confirm that Nicolas was allowed to live there. Deputies also found a Lexus parked outside the storage unit. It had fictitious license plates out of Oklahoma and deputies learned the vehicle was stolen from Omaha.
“Also during the investigation, deputies find meth and meth paraphernalia, including pipes and syringes in the storage shed and the Lexus,” Houchin says.
He says Nicholas and two other two people found at the storage unit, 26-year-old Dana Culp and 34-year-old Tanner Dux, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Houchin says Culp and Dux were driving the Lexus and they were also booked for possession of stolen property along with outstanding warrants.
