Lincoln Police say a 42 year old woman was seriously hurt in a two vehicle crash around 10:30 Thursday morning at 17th and ‘K’ Street.  Captain Todd Kocian says Ronnie Martinez was eastbound on ‘K’ Street when he ran a red light and slammed into a northbound Ford Explorer.

“The impact caused the Explorer to roll over onto its roof.  After the collision Martinez and a passenger fled the scene in the vehicle and were located approximately 15 minutes later near 20th & ‘G’ Street,” Kocian says.

Martinez was arrested for leaving the scene of an injury accident and was cited & released for DUI and violating a traffic signal.  LPD says his blood alcohol level at the hospital was .88.   The 42-old driver of the Ford Explorer was transported to a local hospital where is she is being treated for serious neck injuries.
