Lincoln Police has wrapped up it’s ‘Click It or Ticket’ enforcement effort. From May 15 through June 4 extra officers were placed around the city to focus on traffic enforcement and seatbelt compliance.
LPD says from May 15 through June 4 there were 558 citations, warnings and arrests. Among the violations were 204 for speeding. There were 59 citations for seatbelt violations and five child restraint violations.
There were also 65 drivers with no valid registration and 26 with no insurance. Ten stop sign violation citations were also issued. There were eight citations for driving under suspension and seven criminal arrests.
The project was funded through a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation- Highway Safety Office.
