
Lincoln has been ranked the 12th overall best city to raise a family according to a WalletHub Study analyzing over 180 cities across 45 key metrics.
With inflation leading some families to move to cities with a low cost of living, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2023’s Best & Worst Places to Raise a Family.
Lincoln landed an average score of 63.32. In terms of more specific metrics, Lincoln ranked 67th in Family Fun, this category considers factors such as access to parks, trails, museums, and even ideal weather. In Health and Safety Lincoln landed at 44th, this category focuses on factors such as access to medical care and public safety ratings. Lincoln was ranked 35th by the metric of Education & Childcare, this metric considers availability and affordability of childcare services and the quality of education systems. In Socio-Economics, Lincoln came in at 45th place. This category considers factors like divorce rates, the amount of families taking part in SNAP benefits, and average poverty rates. Lincoln’s highest ranking metric was affordability, being ranked in 11th place. This metric analyzes cost of living when comparing median household income to housing costs.
