A fire early Monday morning damaged several garages at the Lodge Apartments near 40th and Old Cheney Road. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman shortly after 5:00 a.m. crews found smoke coming from a line of ten garages.
“The fire started in the third garage and spread to the adjacent ones,” Lierman says. “All the units were opened up and checked by firefighters and there was smoke damage found throughout all of the units.”
Lierman says the cause of the fire is not yet known. It caused an estimated $100,000 damage to the garages and $20,000 to contents.
