The 2023 Nebraska baseball season is over.

No. 1 seed Maryland beat No. 4 seed Nebraska for the second time this week. The 4-2 loss ends the NU run in the Big Ten Tournament and brings the season to a close.

The Terrapins plated three runs in the second inning and added another in the fifth on a home run. That’s where the score would stay until the bottom of the ninth inning as Big Red put on a rally.

Three Husker walks loaded the bases for Cole Evans, who ripped an RBI single to left field. After a Griffin Everitt strikeout, Brice Matthews smacked a sac fly, bringing the score to 4-2.

With two outs and two on, Max Anderson put a charge into the ball into deep right field, but the Terrapin outfielder caught the final out just in front of the wall.

Nebraska managed just five hits on the day, with three of those coming from Casey Burnham.

The Huskers end the 2023 campaign with a record of 33-22-1.
