The Lincoln Airport is ready to welcome visitors to see the new renovations and expansion of the the terminal building. Director of Communications Rachel Barth says a public Open House will be held Tuesday from 3-7 p.m.
“Once you walk into the airport, you’ll be greeted by some of our customer service team members and instead of going to the south end of the terminal you’ll go to the north end.”
Barth says there will be free parking, snacks and drinks available. Visitors will get to see the six new passenger gates, new bar and restaurant and Flyer’s Club.
“Just show up, walk around and see the space,” Barth says. She says on June 1 TSA will move all of their security equipment over and the only way you will get a to see the space is to be a ticketed passenger.
The Open House will serve as the culmination of nearly 18 months of construction and planning. The airport expansion efforts along with the addition of their new air service partner, Red Way are projected to double the number of visitors annually at LNK, which will help increase their yearly economic impact of over $1.3 billion.
