Lincoln Police say a food delivery driver had her car stolen at the Burger King near 17th and South Streets just before 9:00 Tuesday morning. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the 24 year old driver left her car running and unlocked as she went inside to pick up a Door Dash order.
She then saw an unknown man hop into the car and drive away. Vollmer says the victim has a tracking service and it indicated the stolen vehicle was in the alley near 11th and C Street.
“Responding officers located the vehicle and observed a male in the process of removing the license plates. Upon seeing police, the man ran away with officers giving chase,” Vollmer says. 29 year old Thomas Mallory was arrested and officers found him with items stolen from the vehicle and a small amount of marijuana.
Mallory was arrested for theft by receiving and cited for obstructing a police officer, possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a transaction device.
