The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department has provided additional details following the arrest of a Norris High School English teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says the relationship involved a 17 year old student, who was on the school’s trap team, and 23 year old Lillie Bowman, who was an assistant coach.
“We did do a search warrant on her residence. Evidence of the crime was located during that search,” Houchin says. He says other parents of trap team athletes contacted deputies last Wednesday night about the relationship.
Houchin says deputies went to the school on Friday and Bowman was called out of class and arrested for sexual abuse by a school employee, which is a felony.
The sheriff’s department says the relationship with the student reportedly started in March and soon became sexual.
