About 70 volunteers will help the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department Wake Up The Beds at Sunken Gardens on Saturday. The annual planting event will run from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at 26th and D.
Parks staff will be setting up the areas in the garden prior to the event. The 2023 theme is “Magical Mystery Tour,” which will reflect the artwork found on several album covers from the Beatles era that were produced during the 60s and 70s.
The designs will incorporate different features and characters that they sing about in their music through the living plants using the colors of their annuals.
