Lincoln firefighters found a two car garage engulfed in flames when they arrived at a home at 2910 NW 8th Street around 2:40 Monday morning. LFR Captain Nancy Crist says the flames spread to the house and caused the roof to collapse.
Firefighters had to move outside to fight the fire. She says the two residents and their dog made it out safely. Firefighters rescued a cat. No one was injured and damage is estimated at $250,000.
She says an electrical outlet in the garage caused the fire. The residents have been relocated.
