Lincoln Police say a clerk at Midwest Smoke at 47th and O Street was shot in the neck with a pellet gun by a robbery suspect Friday evening. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says officers got to the store around 5:40 p.m. and spoke to the injured employee.
He says a man walked in around 6 p.m. and requested $136 in vaping merchandise. “When the employee placed the items on the counter, the suspect collected them and left the store. The employee followed the suspect outside.”
Vollmer says the store employee attempted to reach into the vehicle the suspect was leaving in. “He received a pellet gun shot to the side of his neck.” The vehicle then drove away.
LFR crews treated the 24 year old clerk and transported him to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. LPD is still investigating and anyone with information is asked to call (402) 441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at (402) 475-3600.
