Lincoln Police say a 40 year old man was arrested in connection with a deadly stabbing at a home near 62nd and Baldwin Sunday night.
Police Chief Teresa Ewins says officers arrived around 7:00 p.m. and found Joseph Kruger still at the scene. Kruger is being held at the Lancaster County Jail on a charge of murder in the second degree.
She says 59 year old Mark Kruger was stabbed once in the chest with a steak knife during an argument. The knife has been recovered. Ewins says the stabbing happened during a family gathering and they are interviewing several witnesses.
“Obviously this is a tragic event for this family and our hearts go out to them. I can’t imagine what they are feeling right now. The loss of a husband and the arrest of the stepson.”
This is Lincoln’s sixth homicide of 2023.
