Lincoln Northwest High School has a new head coach for the boys varsity basketball team. Ferrell Mcghee led the Falcons’ junior varsity basketball team this past season. He also helped coach Northwest’s football team.
“Coach Mcghee will assist our program’s growth as he continues to build the basketball culture he helped to establish this year,” Northwest Athletics and Activities Director Christina Nevitt says.
Mcghee started his coaching career at Lincoln Public Schools as Northeast High School’s freshman head boys’ basketball coach in 2017. Before coaching, he played football in college and was a free agent in the NFL.
“I am really grateful and appreciative of the opportunity to continue to improve and grow the Lincoln Northwest basketball program,” Mcghee says. He also teaches Health and P.E. at Yankee Hill Education Center.
