The midweek challenges continue.
Nebraska baseball took their first loss in program history to North Dakota State Wednesday, falling 6-5 at home. The loss drops NU to 24-17-1 on the year.
Nebraska also dropped to 4-4 on the year against teams from the Summit League. The Huskers went 2-0 against Northern Colorado, 1-1 against NDSU, 1-2 against Omaha, and 0-1 against South Dakota State.
The Bison chased Kyle Perry off the mound after just a single inning, posting five runs in the opening frame. Drew Christo then gave up one run in his 2.0 innings of work, while Jackson Brockett, Brett Sears, and Corbin Hawkins allowed no runs on no hits the rest of the way.
The Huskers fought back with a pair of runs in the third inning and another in the fourth, before putting together a rally for two runs in the ninth, only to fall just short.
NU posted four home runs on the evening, with Brice Matthews blasting two and Griffin Everitt and Cole Evans hitting the others.
Nebraska heads on the road to Maryland this weekend.
