A fight between two women Saturday night leads to a Lincoln Police Officer being assaulted. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says officers separated the two women who were fighting in a driveway near 3rd and Fairfield.
“After separating the women, 28 year old Mariah Williams attempted to push past officers to re-engage in the fight,” Vollmer says. “When officers continued to block her path, she punched one of the officers in the face.
The officer used pepper spray on Williams and was taken into custody. She was booked into jail for assault on an officer. Vollmer says the officer had some redness to the face but no serious injuries.
