A 39 year old woman has been arrested after police found her with a stolen vehicle just north of Gateway Mall Tuesday night. LPD Sergeant Chris Vollmer says investigators received information the 1998 Ford Escort, which was taken from a home just north of 68th and Garland, was found at Homebase Storage at 62nd and N. Cotner Blvd.
Vollmer says arriving officers found 39 year old Julie Rodgers removing items from the vehicle. She was taken into custody and booked into jail for theft by receiving stolen property, forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument. A search warrant was obtained for the storage unit associated with Rodgers.
LPD says there was additional information that a man associated with Rogers may have been inside Homebase at the time she was being arrested. Additional officers were requested to clear the building, but he was not found.
