Governor Jim Pillen has announced his appointment to the district 25 state senate seat being vacated by Suzanne Geist following her resignation.
Carolyn Bosn is a stay at home mom who previously served in the Lancaster County Attorney’s office. She will fill out the remainder of Geist’s two-year term as the Dist. 25 representative beginning Tuesday.
On her appointment Bosn said, “I’m very honored to have been asked by Governor Pillen and Lieutenant Governor Kelly to serve as the Senator for Legislative District 25.
I will work hard to earn the trust of the residents of District 25 as well as my legislative colleagues.”
Bosn was born and raised in Columbus, Nebraska, where her parents still reside. She has been an adjunct professor for the University of Nebraska’s College of Law trial advocacy program. Prior to that, Bosn was a deputy county attorney in the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office. Her areas of experience have included juvenile law violations, child abuse, child neglect, domestic assault, and narcotics cases. Bosn received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Baylor University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law. Bosn is married to Reginald Bosn. They have four young children.
“Carolyn will hit the ground running,” said Governor Pillen. “She has integrity and a desire to work hard. Throughout the course of her career, she has demonstrated a calling to public service. She will be an outstanding representative for District 25.
Bosn listed her priorities as, “A lot of the things that are going to be a focus for me would be law enforcement, community safety, protecting families, reducing taxes, reducing spending.”
Bosn was also asked if he would support and carry on Geist position on the issue of abortion. She said, “I believe that life begins at conception and I stand behind Senator Geist.”
