Lincoln Police were called to the Super C convenience store near 17th and L Street around 11:20 Monday morning by an employee who said a customer had tried to stab him.
“An employee reported that 41-year-old Jason Benson entered the store and purchased some food,” says Captain Todd Kocian. “Benson was then informed he could not eat his food in the store as it is against store policy and was asked to leave and became upset at the employee.”
Kocian says the employee told officers that Benson then pulled out a box cutter and tried to stab him in the chest. “The employee did not suffer any injuries as the knife folded upon itself when he was struck,” Kocian says.
Benson suffered a minor cut to one of his fingers. He was arrested for terroristic threats and cited & released for use of
a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
