A 27 year old Lincoln woman accused of killing two men with her vehicle at the Lodge apartment complex will undergo a mental competency evaluation to see if she is fit to stand trial. A Lancaster County judge has ordered the evaluation for Taylor Bradley.
Lincoln Police say she struck and killed 42 year old Chris Karmazin and 45 year old Ronald Gonzalez-Rivas in a grassy area near a parking lot at the complex. Police say the two men were struck more than once and that Bradley tried to hit a third man. All three were maintenance workers.
Assistant LPD Chief Brian Jackson says it appears Bradley may have been in the middle of a mental health crisis and the maintenance employees were her focus. “Nothing suggests the maintenance staff did anything to initiate this event.”
The mental health evaluation was requested by Bradley’s attorney and it is set for April 3.
