The Peoples City Mission has launched a brand new program for their clients to assist them in finding gainful employment in the city of Lincoln.
PCM has just launched an in-house employment agency . This program will work to better connect various companies in Lincoln with qualified individuals staying in their shelters, especially for jobs that companies may be having a hard time filling at the moment. Additionally this program will provide job training to their clients, including how to improve their interview skills, develop a strong work ethic, and project a strong professional appearance.
KLIN News spoke with Art Wilson, Workforce Development Director for the program.
“We’re looking for anyone who wants to partner with us…To begin, I’d like to get 2 or 3 solid partnerships developed and work from there. I’ve had a number of people reach out to me, some bigger companies, some local small businesses, some people who just want to offer training.” said Wilson.
He continued, “I’m developing all kinds of classes centered around job skills, job searching, interviewing, how to dress properly for an interview. We can provide some clothing… I’m developing those curriculums from my own experience and from research.”
