Several people called 911 around 4:45 Wednesday afternoon to report a man walking in the middle of the street near 52nd and L. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says when officers arrived they found the 22 year old man at 48th and L.
“He was observed to have a holstered pistol on his hip, a bottle of alcohol in his hand and the officer described him as attempting to chase passing cars.”
Vollmer says the man was taken into custody, but resisted when officers tried putting him in the cruiser. Officers learned that the man had a previous criminal conviction prohibiting him from carrying a firearm in the City of Lincoln.
He was arrested for refusing to comply with the order of a police officer. He was also cited and released for urinating in public, obstructing the street and possessing a firearm by a prohibited person.
Vollmer says he refused a preliminary breath test.
