Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue are stressing the importance of businesses updating their emergency contact form. LFR Captain Nancy Crist says the information is often used by first responders when they need to contact an employee of the business during an emergency situation or to make notification of an issue.
“If we arrive and don’t see smoke, fire or anything that indicates that the building is in impending doom then we want to wait for a keyholder, but we have to have the keyholders name and number to do that.”
LPD and LFR say it’s important for businesses to regularly update this information so when the situation arises, the appropriate people can be contacted to promptly address the situation in question.
