Two men are in custody after a traffic stop led to the discovery of meth and fentanyl during a traffic stop in Seward County. On Saturday, March 4, a deputy with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe on I-80 near Milford.
During the traffic stop, the deputy became suspicious that the driver and passenger were involved in criminal activity. As a result, a probable cause search was conducted based upon information provided by the driver. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found multiple packages of controlled substances that tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl pills.
The total weight of the methamphetamine was determined to be over 44 pounds. Nearly 9,000 fentanyl pills were also seized. A stolen gun was also found inside the vehicle.
Fausto Castro-Mendoza of Phoenix, Arizona was taken into custody and booked for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Jesus Villanueva was also found to be a fugitive from justice due to outstanding warrants issued in the State of Colorado.
