Nebraska baseball could not have asked for a better home-opener.

The Huskers smashed three home runs to power past Northern Colorado 12-1. The run-rule victory ended the game in seven innings.

Sophomore Jackson Brockett earned his first win of the season, striking out five and giving up no runs over 4.0 innings of work.

NU had five hitters with multi-hit games as part of a 13 hit effort. The three homers were hit by Charlie Fischer, Gabe Swansen, and Will Walsh.

Nebraska improved to 6-4-1 with the victory.

The Huskers and Bears are slated to play again Wednesday at 2:05 p.m. CST.
