Lincoln Police ticketed a 26 year old man twice for drunk driving over the course of about four hours. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the first incident happened around 9:50 Monday night when they stopped a car near 27th and E Street.
“The stop concluded with Joshua Steckly being taken into custody for DUI,” Vollmer says. Steckly was transported to LifePointe where he tested .145. He was cited for DUI and turned over to a sober person.
Around 1:40 Tuesday morning officers were called to 59th and Holdrege on a report of a vehicle crashing into a chain link fence. “Steckly was identified as the driver and was still intoxicated,” Vollmer says.
He was taken to jail where his blood alcohol level was .204, two and a half times the legal limit. Steckly was cited for DUI, negligent driving and driving without insurance.
