Lincoln Police were called to 36th and Cleveland Avenue around 7:30 Wednesday night after residents heard gunshots in the area. Officers spoke with witnesses who provided a photo of the suspect vehicle leaving the area.
Sergeant Chris Vollmer says five spent .22 caliber shell casings were found on the John Dietrich Bike Trail. “While collecting casings, officers observed the suspect vehicle traveling on an adjacent street.”
Officers contacted 28 year old Kevin Trejo Montoya at a nearby gas station. Vollmer says he was found with a .22 caliber handgun, box of .22 caliber ammunition and .7 grams of suspected cocaine. He was booked into jail for possession of controlled substance, carry concealed weapon, obstructing a police officer and discharging of a firearm within the city.
