An argument turned to gunfire near 59th and West O Street just before 5:00 Thursday afternoon. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says officers spoke to a 26 year old man who said there was a group of people arguing over a previously stolen backpack.
“As the argument continued 22-year-old Luis Candelero Calderon produced a shotgun and fired into the ground in close proximity to the victim.” He was later contacted and taken into custody without incident.
He was booked for terroristic threats and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
