The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department responded to several weather related accidents on Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff Terry Wagner says one of his deputies had a close call while investigating a crash near Highway 77 and Mill Road, which is between Waverly and Raymond.
“One of the deputies had blocked the outside lane of traffic to protect the crash scene and the ambulance and a woman was speeding along and ran into the rear of the patrol car.”
Wagner says the deputy was walking back to his car when the crash happened. He was not hurt. The woman suffered minor injuries and her vehicle was totaled. Wagner says in addition to several accidents countywide his deputies helped several motorists during the bad weather.
