A Lincoln business was heavily damaged following a three vehicle crash at 56th and O Street around 10:30 Monday night. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says it started when the driver of a Nissan Maxima ran a red light.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a westbound Nissan Maxima violated the traffic light and struck a southbound GMC Acadia in the intersection,” Vollmer says. The collision caused the Nissan to strike a third vehicle that was stopped at the traffic signal.
“The Nissan continued off the roadway and struck the front of the Eyeglass World, causing approximately $75,000 in damage.” The driver of the Nissan and the driver of the Acadia were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Nissan driver was cited for violating the traffic signal.
