Governor Jim Pillen on Wednesday signed a contract agreement that will provide the largest pay increase for state troopers in 20 years. The agreement will also provide incentives to better train and equip troopers and enhance pay for those with special assignments.
“This new agreement shows the commitment the State of Nebraska has to law enforcement,” said Governor Pillen. “I will continue to ensure law enforcement is funded competitively and has the tools needed to keep our state safe.”
Applications to join the Nebraska State Patrol are now open. Anyone interested in joining the force should submit an application by April 3.
