A brief second-half lead wasn’t enough for Nebraska women’s basketball to hold onto in an 80-75 loss at No. 12 Michigan Sunday afternoon.

The Huskers fell behind by double-digits early before fighting back to take a six-point lead in the third quarter. The Wolverines then answered with a 6-0 run to take the lead for good.

Alexis Markowski and Jaz Shelley each notched double-doubles. Markowski scored 18 points and tied a career-high with 18 rebounds. Shelley pitched in 14 points and 10 assists.

Issie Bourne added 18 points and six rebounds.

Nebraska slipped to 14-11 on the year and 6-8 in the Big Ten Conference. The Huskers head to Minnesota Wednesday.
