By Tom Stanton Feb 9, 2023 | 1:33 PM

As the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles prepare to battle it out on the field Sunday, Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach in Lincoln will is holding it’s annual “Souper Bowl of Caring.”

Executive Director Susanne Blue say’s it’s a national movement designed to do good in the community in addition to enjoying the big game.  “We organize the faith community, a group of churches, businesses, schools and civic groups and we ask them for either monetary donations or donations of non-perishable food items.”

Blue tells KLIN News they receive between $20,000 and $25,000 in donations each year.  “Which we can feed a lot of people, and then we get a lot of non-perishable food items, that help just as well.”

She says anyone can help them fight hunger through the “Souper Bowl of Caring,” which runs through the end of February.  Click here for details on how to make a cash donation.

Food items can also be dropped off at Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach near 27th and Leighton.
