Residents in an Air Park neighborhood called Lincoln Police after hearing several gunshots in an Air Park neighborhood just before 1:00 Wednesday morning.
Sergeant Chris Vollmer says officers responded to a home on Lindsey Circle near NW 54th. “One of the front windows had damage consistent with gunfire and the round was located in the interior drywall.”
Vollmer says the gas meter outside the home was also damaged by gunfire. “Three spent 9mm casings and one intact 9mm round were recovered by the sidewalk.” As officers were wrapping up a neighborhood canvass they were advised that additional shots were heard north of the first incident.
Officers eventually found two vehicles damaged by gunfire in the 4200 block of NW 54th Street. Vollmer says an additional seven spent 9mm casings were found near the damaged vehicles.
No one was hurt and anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402- 475-3600.
