The Nebraska State Patrol has opened applications for those who want to join the force. The application process is open for Camp 68 until April 3. Camp 68 is scheduled to begin on July 5 and run through Dec. 15.
State troopers patrol Nebraska’s roads, investigate crimes, fly drones, helicopters, and airplanes, negotiate crises, handle explosives, and have many more responsibilities in the name of keeping Nebraska safe.
Upon graduation from training, troopers begin at $30 per hour; $62,400 annually. There are numerous benefits that come with the job, including medical and life insurance and an increase of pay for those who are bilingual.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by Dec. 15. They must also be citizens of the United States. A high school diploma or GED equivalence is required. See Nebraska Troopers for more information.
