Nebraska’s Chiefs fans have been gripped with Super Bowl fever, but it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to place their bets. While sports betting is legal in the state, there’s still a lot of red tape that WarHorse Casino has to go through.
Lynne McNally, CEO of Nebraska Horsemen, tells KLIN News that WarHorse Chairman of the Board Lance Morgan is continuing to review bids in order to find a vendor to take bets. McNally expects the decision to be made by the start of the week beginning Feb. 6.
“Then, we’ll be able to bring in the equipment and all that,” said McNally. “But before that can happen, the vendor that we select has to be licensed by the gaming commission for the state of Nebraska. So, they have to go through that process first before we can bring any equipment in.”
McNally estimates that sports fans will be able to place bets for March Madness.
