Governor Pillen announced his support for Suzanne Geist to be the next mayor of Lincoln. Speaking in the rotunda of the State Capitol on Tuesday morning, Pillen said, “Leadership matters. Conservative leadership matters. I am really thrilled to endorse Senator Geist to become the next mayor of Lincoln.
We have a lot in common. Our ideals match up just like a perfect glove. Suzanne believes in supporting communities, focusing on the important issues involving our communities, making sure that we have better roads, and making sure government plays its proper role.”
This is Geist’s second major endorsement in under a week. On Jan. 26, Geist garnered the support of the city’s police union.
“It is an honor to have such an outpouring of support from the community and from Governor Pillen,” said Geist. “I am so proud to have his backing in helping to change the trajectory of Lincoln. Our citizens are facing real issues that demand attention. As the next mayor of Lincoln, my administration and all community stakeholders will work collaboratively to position Lincoln where it needs to be – a city where all citizen and businesses have a chance to thrive.”
