Lincoln Transportation and Utilities declared a Snow Emergency for Lincoln, effective at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. From 10 PM, parking will be prohibited on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes. Maps of these routes are available at the city’s website under the “Parking Bans & Ordinances” tab.
Crews are patrolling streets and treating emergency snow routes and arterial roads with granular salt pre-wet with brine. Plow teams are on standby and ready to respond to forecasted snow.
The National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect until 6 AM Thursday. Mixed precipitation, snow, and wind gusts into the 30s are possible.
StarTran buses will continue to operate during the storm, but riders should plan for delays.
