A Christmas morning fire damaged a home just south of 77th and A Street. LFR Captain Nancy Crist says detectors alerted the residents to the fire around 2:00 a.m. and they both managed to get out safely.
Crist says the couple described hearing a popping noise. “Our folks found the fire in the basement at the electrical panel, which was completely melted.”
The fire was confined to the basement. Damage is estimated at $60,000.
