Winter Storm Warning Wednesday Noon through Friday Evening
Wind Chill Warning Thursday 12 am through Saturday 12 Noon

The latest National Weather Service Weather Update for the upcoming winter storm is indicating a slight reduction in the forecast amount of snow. Still, the Lincoln area is expected to receive 2 to 4 inches by Thursday morning.

That snow will be blown around by very strong Northerly winds of 20 to 40 mph with gusts over 50 mph possible.

Ahead of the cold and wind, some patchy freezing drizzle and/or light snow is possible in the Lincoln area beginning Wednesday morning and lasting through late afternoon. The heaviest snowfall will occur between 6 pm Wednesday night and 6 am Thursday morning.

Strong winds and bitterly cold temperatures will continue to be the biggest issue for 36 to 48 hours with travel difficult if not impossible.  The latest National Weather Service maps and outlook is available here 12-20-22 PM NWS DssPacket
