Two Lincoln Residents Confronted By Gunmen At Front Door

By Tom Stanton Dec 19, 2022 | 12:09 PM

A 39 year old man got a rude welcome after moving into his new house last Wednesday.  He called Lincoln Police Friday night saying a man threatened him with a gun at his front door.

“Arriving officers spoke to the victim who reported answering a loud knock at the door and finding an unknown male displaying a handgun,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer.

The victim told the suspect he had nothing to steal and after a 20 second exchange the suspect fled the area empty handed.  Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday a 22 year old man answered a knock at his door near  51st Street and Prescott Avenue and found a man asking to use his cell phone.

Vollmer says the victim let the suspect use it.  The man then pulled out a handgun and forced the victim back inside.  He then demanded
the victim hand over his credit card.

After getting one of the victim’s credit cards the suspect fled the area.  The victim’s phone was found as officers were checking the area and the victim was able to call and immediately cancel his credit card.

Both investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln
Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
