On Thursday, Lancaster County District Court judge Kevin McManaman dismissed a legal challenge by Lincoln legislative candidate Russ Barger in which he tried to force the state to recount his 223-vote loss by hand. Judge McManaman ruled against Barger’s lawsuit on a technicality and on its merits. The judge said his court lacked the jurisdiction to consider the lawsuit because Barger’s original filing lacked a notarized signature.
